SIG Release is one of the largest Kubernetes Special Interest Groups, responsible for managing and getting Kubernetes releases delivered on time. Join us for an overview of the ongoing release cycle and the release processes, as well as, the latest updates on developments to improve the delivery of Kubernetes releases. The speakers will highlight what's expected in the next Kubernetes release, and how you can become a part of the Release Team.

In addition to that, they'll provide an update on efforts to integrate with OpenBuildService (OBS) as a solution for problems we face with system (Debian/RPM) packages. The session will outline to the attendees into how we integrated OBS in the release process, striving to provide a primer on how other Kubernetes and CNCF projects, but also Kubernetes distributors, can do the same. Finally, they’ll show how the migration from old to new package repositories look like, with an emphasis on why it is important for end users to migrate.
