Certificates are the backbone of Service Mesh security and there are multiple options for certificate deployment, which end users often get confused about. This talk will go through the different flavors of certificates in Service Mesh and explain why they exist and how to better utilize them. Some typical business scenarios around these certificates will be demonstrated using the Istio Service Mesh platform, like External certificate management, SPIFFE integration, Multi-tenancy, Certificate Revocation List, OCSP stapling, extended TLS settings, Confidential Computing and Security in 5G Telco Cloud.
