Navigating the ever-changing cloud native landscape is already a whirlwind. Now mix in: mission critical reliability, impact to human life, Risk Management Framework (security compliance), restricted access locations, complex purchasing arrangements and talent retention issues and you have all the trappings for what feels like standing at the base camp of Mount Everest. In this session, we give real world examples of how disadvantaged Department of Defense critical systems are today then take you on a journey of all the macro steps required to deliver open source software to these complex environments. Each step of the way you will hear about how CNCF projects play critical roles in solving key challenges. Lastly, a call to action in how more of the community can get involved to help.
